Cambridge Rope Camera Strap
We wanted to create a more sustainable camera strap and this is the result. Our rope camera straps are made from 100% recycled plastic bottles. There’s no greenwashing here. Just a more sustainable product in order to do our part in helping to preserve our beautiful planet. In addition to the rope being made from recycled plastic, we also use off-cuts from our Horween leather camera straps for the ends. As a result, there is little, to no leather wastage created from any of our straps.

I can clearly, without hesitation, say that this is one of the finest leather camera straps I have ever seen or owned. The leather is soft, the stitching is flawless. As usual – you get what you pay for. Several websites have already labeled Hawkesmill as the best camera strap in the world and I have to agree 100%. – Read full review.
The Hawkesmill camera straps are incredibly well made, feel great, and overall have a nice appeal to them. They surely do their job and they do it rather well. If you want one strap that’s absolutely perfect and gives you room to make adjustments accordingly, then spring for these straps. – Read full review.
Overall I absolutely cannot fault this strap so can comfortably give it a 10/10, and I’m generally fussy. Sure the price is high but so is the quality. Buy one of these and you’ll probably not need another for at least ten years. – Read full review.

Wow! Super nice quality camera strap. Can’t believe this is made from plastic bottles. It is very soft and feels very strong. I bought the black version with the round leather pieces. Fits my canon vintage slr very well.

Got a few Hawkesmill strps. They are all great quality. Bought this when it launched a few weeks ago.
Its just as good as all of their other straps. Feels like it will last longer than I will. 😉

Very nice camera strap!! Not too expensive like some of their stuff. I don’t get how people can pay this much money for camera accessories. But if their bags are as nice as this strap I guess I can understand. Very nice details and it is extremely comfy, even during an all day shoot. Being made from bottles is cool. Nice touch!!

There aren’t very many camera straps out there using recycled materials. It was nice to see that hawkmill are using them. It would be nice if they would also use a vegan leather. But I did read that the leather on these straps is from their off cuts, so nothing is wasted. That’s the only way I could justify buying anything with leather in it. I’m not a vegan I just don’t like harming animals needlessly.
The strap is really nice. Very high quality and it is soft too. But PLEASE make a vegan option!!

Thanks for the review Gavin! We are definitely looking into vegan options. However, the issue we have is that vegan leather is made from polyurethane (PU) and/or polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Both of which are made from oil and will not break down at the end of life. We are looking into several other options, but for now, using our leather off-cuts is the most effective thing we can do to limit the damage caused to the planet. That way, we produce almost no waste. Our rope straps are 100% recycled and recyclable. And our leather will break down in landfill, or compost.

Just received my order. Thank you! I haven’t had a long time with it but it is so nice out of the box. Very soft and thick like it will last forever!
