It’s not a cheap bag by any stretch of the imagination but I have to say, having used it for several months, I can see this bag lasting me forever. It’s a really beautifully crafted piece of, I suppose, luxury craftmanship but that really does stand out. – Kevin Mullins (Fujifilm ambassador)

About the St. James’s Street camera bag
St. James’s Street in London is home to some of England’s most established and longstanding brands. This is where Winston Churchill first bought his cigars. JJ Fox still has the original records, showing what and when he ordered them. Lock and Co. has been the hatter of choice to royalty for generations.
We designed this bag to pay homage to the great British field bag. In use since at least 1880, the quintessential English field bag has been relatively unchanged for over 130 years. We use triple layered waterproof canvas, paired with rich, chocolate bubble leather. Everything is kept nice and secure with heavy duty clog balls and thick leather straps. We designed the St. James’s Street bag to hold everything you may require, whether shooting briefly for pleasure, or a week on assignment. It is big enough to carry what you need, and small enough to still be discreet.

Bought this the day it launched. Love it! First off, let me state that I own 3 Hawkesmill camera bags. The Sloane messenger, the old Regent St and now this St James’s Street. Each of the bags have their own unique qualities. I would never trade one for the other, however, if I had to chose one of their bags, this would be it. The leather flap is absolutely beautiful. It is so thick and the smell is heaven.
The bag is easy to get into and close. I love the Regent St bag and how it locks with the clasp on the front, but I appreciate the need to make a bag that is quick to get into. The pockets are also larger, which again, is a minor change, but something that some may find useful. I try and pack as little as possible, but when I need a larger pocket, I have it in this bag.
Hawkesmill have not faltered on their legendary customer service. The bag reached me across the world in a few days. And it was packed really well, with some nice touches in the box, as usual. Keep up the good work everyone!

I wanted a camera bag that was a bit unique and not everyone had. I have followed hawkesmill for a while and have one of their straps, which I really like. I bought the st james bag and I cannot fault it. Its a great bag and does everything i need a bag to do. Looks and smells really nice too!

Let’s be honest, this is not a camera bag for everyone. Heck, I didn’t even think it was for me. When I saw the price I literally fell off my chair. “Does it come with a camera inside?”
But after several months use, I can honestly say, you get what you pay for. These guys have made no mistake about what they are doing. Making superior products and for a price. And for my money, they’re doing a bang up job. This bag is incredibly beautifully. It is a treat to use it each time.

Really beautiful bag. It’s taken a while to break it in, but that can only be a good thing. The leather is super soft now and it’s a pleasure to use each time. Well done team Hawkesmill!!

When I first saw this outfit I thought to myself, just another wanna be making expensive bags that look like, ahem, a certain other British camera bag maker. Sorry no!
This bag is absolutely gorgeous! It feels like and looks like it will survive an apocalypse. It is so much better than any other camera bag I’ve used, except for my Fogg. That is on par with this Hawkesmill bag. I look forward to using this for many years to come.
