…if you are looking for a premium camera bag but stop for a second thinking “this is expensive”, think how expensive your camera is and how pricey it gets to buy a cheap camera bag every year again and again and again because you need to replace it. Your camera deserves better. –Nico Goodden

About the New Bond Street camera bag
New Bond Street has been a home for retail shops since the 18th century. And well before that, there was a Roman fort in this spot. Our New Bond Street with its rich black bubble leather, black canvas and solid brass fittings is as luxurious as it gets.
We designed this bag to pay homage to the great British field bag. In use since at least 1880, the quintessential English field bag has been relatively unchanged for over 130 years. We use triple layered waterproof canvas, paired with rich, black bubble leather. Everything is kept nice and secure with heavy duty clog balls and thick leather straps. We designed the New Bond Street bag to hold everything you may require, whether shooting briefly for pleasure, or a week on assignment. It is big enough to carry what you need, and small enough to still be discreet.

I was in need of a new camera bag after my old faithful one started to look a bit tired. After 15 years of weekly use, can you blame it!?!? I was hesitant to switch brands, especially since the bag I had is from Hawkesmills main UK competitor.
But I am very glad I did. It’s hard to say that the quality of the Hawkesmill is better than my previous bag, but the materials feel much more durable and expensive. Which shouldn’t be surprising as the Hawkesmill bag is twice the price of the Billingham. Also, the leather top of the Hawkesmill is really a nice touch. It smells really nice and looks even nicer. It’s like Gucci made a camera bag. That’s how good it is.

Great products are built to last, I should know, I’ve been using the same Canon film camera for over thirty years. While some photographers are forever chasing the latest technological innovation, my work and practice is based on tradition. I like to keep things simple. A roll of film in my pocket, the clunk of a shutter, the smell of a darkroom, watching an image appear on paper in the developing tray. I have never lost my sense of wonder.
And thats why I love Hawkesmill’s camera straps and bags. Its about classic style, its about quality, its about tradition and like me, they may get a little bashed around as we travel the world, but they are built to last, wont let me down and just get better with age.

I’ve owned this bag for a few months now. Not long enough to test the longevity of it, but long enough to know the ins and outs. Here are my thoughts.
It is the most well made bag I have ever owned. For sure! The materials are seriously high quality. It reminds me of horse riding gear. That stuff is meant to last, saddles and such.
There is room for everything I use including my laptop when I travel. The front pockets snap tightly with the poppers. The luggage sleeve in the rear of the bag is most welcome and has come in handy many times. The rear pocket is a little narrow. It can really only fit some paperwork, or my iPad. But that doesn’t bother me.
If I had one complaint it would be the weight. But I suppose anything that is built to last a lifetime and is made mostly from natural materials is going to weigh more than synthetic bags. But I wouldn’t trade this bag for the newest, lightest, made in China bag if you paid me!
