Overall I absolutely cannot fault this strap so can comfortably give it a 10/10, and I’m generally fussy. Sure the price is high but so is the quality. – Nico Goodden
Westminster Leather Camera Strap
We tried dozens of leathers before settling on Horween Chromexcel for our leather camera straps. We were looking for a leather that was durable and could take daily abuse, but that was soft on the interior of the neck pad. Some leathers seemed to work, but had terrible colour-transference. Our white shirt collars were left with stains. Horween Chromexcel is, in our minds, the only leather worth using for camera straps.
• Five sizes available: 90cm – (35 1/2″), 100cm – (39 3/8″), 110cm – (43 5/16″), 120cm – (47 1/4″) and 130cm – (51 1/5″). Measured from split ring to split ring (key ring). Please note: if ordering with a Peak Design anchor the length will be 10cm longer. If you require a specific size, please order one size down to accommodate for the anchor links.
• Width: 1.5cm (Neck Pad – 4cm)
• Two colours available: brown and black.
• We offer two thread choices: orange for our brown straps and red for our black straps. Our thread comes from Amann & Söhne. A German textile company that has been in business since 1854.
• Horween Chromexcel leather. Known for its durability and softness, as well as its lack of colour-transference. Meaning, the dye will not rub off on your clothes.
• Recommended max weight is 5lbs. Although straps have been tested to support weight up to 30lbs without breaking or splitting.
• Lug mount. Fits all lug mount cameras, including Nikon, Leica, Olympus, Sony, Fujifilm and most 35mm vintage cameras.
• We use the finest quality 304 stainless steel split rings and provide you with multiple rings in case you ever need to replace them.

I can clearly, without hesitation, say that this is one of the finest leather camera straps I have ever seen or owned. The leather is soft, the stitching is flawless. As usual – you get what you pay for. Several websites have already labeled Hawkesmill as the best camera strap in the world and I have to agree 100%. – Read full review.
The Hawkesmill camera straps are incredibly well made, feel great, and overall have a nice appeal to them. They surely do their job and they do it rather well. If you want one strap that’s absolutely perfect and gives you room to make adjustments accordingly, then spring for these straps. – Read full review.
Overall I absolutely cannot fault this strap so can comfortably give it a 10/10, and I’m generally fussy. Sure the price is high but so is the quality. Buy one of these and you’ll probably not need another for at least ten years. – Read full review.

The Westminster strap is really nice. I’ve been using mine for about 4 months now, and it never leaves my Sony A5000. It’s very comfortable and flexible, and I love the tangerine stitching, as I think it really gives this camera some pop. I highly suggest this strap for anyone with a small-medium sized cameras.

Beautiful workmanship, supple yet tough. Very comfortable use. I bought it as a cross body strap and it is somewhat ‘grippy’ when trying to slide it from the waist to photo shooting position.
Would love to get one with the Peak design fast release system for more versatility. All in all, the strap adds that classic look to any camera.

Bought the wrong strap. I thought this would fit my Nikon D3300 but it wouldn’t. It has the wrong mounts. My mistake. Hawkesmill changed it no questions asked. Great customer service!

As I write this (June 17th 2017) I now own all of the straps Hawkesmill make. Having a rather large collection of vintage Leica cameras, these straps are the only thing I’d use on them.
The quality is the finest I’ve seen and I’ve tried all of the leather camera straps out there! If you are on the fence about spending the money, don’t be. There are cheaper straps out there, but why trust them. Hawkesmill back up their straps and are intense about their customers using them. It’s a nice feeling to be taken care of so well.
I will continue to buy any straps they make in the future as companies like this are rare and they should be supported.

Beautiful strap. I use it on an old Nimslo 3D camera and my A7SII when I shoot stills. The leather feels and looks wonderful.

I just returned from 2 months traveling in Asia and I brought this strap, attached to my Fuji E-X2. It was an amazing combination. They felt so good together… the quality of the two worked really nicely. HIGHLY RECOMMENEDED!

A beautiful strap that feels fantastic in daily use.
There was a small defect in my first strap that only became apparent after several weeks of use, a new strap was sent out straight away by Hawkesmill. Amazing customer service and truly lovely products.
Worth every penny!

Last year I bought a camera strap from a US company, while visiting a friend of mine. I love the strap and I use it nearly every time I shoot. However, being British, I wanted something made here. After some quick researching these guys came up and I am so glad I found them.
The Hawkesmill camera strap is just as good as the US strap I bought from one of the best known leather strap makers there, maybe even a little better. I was a little taken aback by the price, but the US strap was $168, plus shipping and customs. It is much cheaper to buy a Hawkesmill strap if you want the best and don’t live in the US. Great price. Great materials. And great customer service!

Bought this strap for my partner after my friend raved out it. She seems to like it. Doesn’t leave her camera. So I guess that’s a good sign. 🙂

I have a few old film cameras. The star of the show being my Contax Aria. Which is the main reason I bought this strap. But I can also use it on my Nikon D4s.
The neck pad distributes the weight very nicely. I never feel that the D4s is too heavy on my neck. Even after a full day of shooting about. It has only softened with age and the color has lightened. It looks like it was made in 1940 or something. It’s really quite nice. All in all I’m very happy with my purchase. Can I recommend that you do some shorter sizes though? I am 5’2″ and the 100cm is just a little long for me to wear it on my chest. Otherwise, it’s perfect!

Purchased this strap quite a while ago now. Imeant to leave a review but just didn’t get around to it. And I am glad I waited. After all these years the strap still makes me smile. It is so much better than the strap that came with my camera. And it has gotten sooooooo soft. I couldn’t imagine owning any other camera strap.
If I could make one criticism it would be to use paper tape on your packaging and not plastic tape. Better for the planet. 🙂
Hawkesmill England –
Thanks for your review Kristy. Better late than never! Happy to say that since you ordered we have started to use compostable, brown paper tape on all of our packaging.

Incredible camera strap! These guys know what they’re doing. I was a little put off by how big their logo was on the neck piece but it looks really nice and I am glad to show off that I have one of their straps. I like to support small brands and will continue to do so with Hawksmill.
