It’s not a cheap bag by any stretch of the imagination but I have to say, having used it for several months, I can see this bag lasting me forever. It’s a really beautifully crafted piece of, I suppose, luxury craftmanship but that really does stand out. – Kevin Mullins (Fujifilm ambassador)

About the St. James’s Street camera bag
St. James’s Street in London is home to some of England’s most established and longstanding brands. This is where Winston Churchill first bought his cigars. JJ Fox still has the original records, showing what and when he ordered them. Lock and Co. has been the hatter of choice to royalty for generations.
We designed this bag to pay homage to the great British field bag. In use since at least 1880, the quintessential English field bag has been relatively unchanged for over 130 years. We use triple layered waterproof canvas, paired with rich, chocolate bubble leather. Everything is kept nice and secure with heavy duty clog balls and thick leather straps. We designed the St. James’s Street bag to hold everything you may require, whether shooting briefly for pleasure, or a week on assignment. It is big enough to carry what you need, and small enough to still be discreet.

In a word, this camera bag is PERFECTION! I have owned a number of camera bags in my life, the usual names, Billingham, ONA, Tenba, ThinkTank, etc. and I can honestly say that this is the finest of them all. This bag oozes quality. It really has to be seen and felt to appreciate it. Looking at photos of this versus a Billingham doesn’t really work as you can’t feel the weight of the canvas compared to the Billingham. You can’t smell the rich leather in comparison to the thin cheap leather ONA uses.
I have not been paid or offered anything for this testimonial. I simply adore the bag and want others to understand what this is and what this is not. This is not a cheap, lightweight, do anything camera bag. You wouldn’t use this bag for a 16 hour hike up a mountain in the rain. Likewise, you wouldn’t leave it in your car for days and weeks, rolling around in the trunk. No, this is a bag you appreciate. You understand all that went into it. You use it, and use it well, but you do not abuse it like a synthetic bag from the makers above.
The St James Street bag is perhaps the perfect size. Not too big, not too small. I have had it over my shoulder for 8 hours of street shooting and been very happy. I take it to work, take it on flights, etc. It isn’t just a camera bag, it’s a regular bag too. And can be used for many things. Making it a much better investment than any of the bags I’ve listed above.
Very happy with the product guys. If you ever need me to give a testimonial anywhere else, or you want me to tell others of my experience let me know. Happy to help!! Best, H.

I searched long and hard for a camera bag that could replace my current one. When you get used to something it doesnt seem like anything could be as good, or better. But this hawkesmill definitely is! It is like a gucci mixed with a billingham. It is such a joy to use and looks absolutely mint!

I believe in owning fewer, better things, and having them for a very long time. I was searching a few years ago for the camera bag that would end my search. This is that bag. It is stylish, practical, weatherproof, and virtually indestructible. I have had dozens of photography bags over the years and this one is essentially as close to perfect as one can get. It isn’t too big or complicated. The layout is genius and clearly well-sorted. I can’t recommend Hawkesmill enough.
